How do they do this? Let’s start with partner disturbance. The Miracoil® springs are quite different to most other mattresses that have an open coil spring unit. For a start they have a greater surface area of wire coverage to support you and secondly they run head to toe rather than from side to side. They also run right to the edge of the bed providing 25% more sleep space. This means that your double bed has the same spring space as a king size. This new head to toe system gives you individual sleep areas so that when one person moves, the other doesn’t.
Now what about those aches and pains? The reason we get them is because our body needs different levels of support in different areas. If we don’t get it, our spine locks in an uncomfortable position. The Miracoil® spring unit is zoned such that the springs are closer together in the central third of the bed, giving support for the heaviest part of the body at the hip, where 50% of the body’s weight is focused. Silentnight’s research shows that 70% of Brits lie on their side to sleep, causing the most pressure with their hips and shoulders. As a result these body areas need special attention.
This support is crucial for correct spinal alignment whilst you sleep, helping you to stand taller and straighter in the morning, ready for action.
The Miracoil® is one continuous spring that runs head to toe distributing body weight up and down the bed. This ensures that the bed gives sleepers and their partners the support they need regardless of their differences in size and weight.
The overheating issue affects about 40% of sleepers and Silentnight have addressed this problem with its Cirrus Air Flow technology, found in every bed in the Miracoil® 7 range. This is a brand new technology involving new generation polyester that allows air to pass through fibres in the mattress, keeping the bed cool and maintaining the sleeper’s individual body temperature. This means that air can escape much more quickly from the bed, keeping the sleeper cooler and aiding deep and restorative sleep.
As well as partner disturbance we often toss and turn in the night don’t we? Apparently this is caused by pressure points being created when we lie down. They restrict the flow of blood round the body and make us feel uncomfortable, wanting to toss and turn. So the Miracoil® system of Memory Breathe and Innergetic® Latex offer an extra cushioning layer on top of the springs, providing more targeted support for your curves and total body relaxation. What is sleep and why do we need it?
